Lighten Up 4 Life is a FREE team-based community weight-loss challenge conducted by Mission Health and sponsored by local businesses and organizations.
LightenUp4Life.com provides you with the online resources to help you to be successful.
Remember it’s not just about losing weight; it’s about leading a healthier lifestyle.
How it works
To join the competition, find three family members, friends or co-workers, come up with a “fun” team name and register at Lighten Up 4 Life We supply you with recipes, healthy eating advice, free exercise videos and tips as well as a list of local running/walking events.

The Lighten Up 4 Life website gives you resources to be successful, but it’s up to you to make the commitment to lose weight and lead a healthier life.
Lighten Up 4 Life.com provides you with healthy diet suggestions and recipes, cooking and exercise videos, exercise tips, and local walking, running & health events and much more.
Q: If I competed in last year’s Lighten Up 4 Life’s competition (2011), do I need to register again for the next challenge (2012)?
A: No, you do not have to register again. If you were already registered for last year’s competition, you are automatically enrolled into the January 2012 competition.
-If you need to change teams or remove yourself from your current team, go to the Progress Tracker and this tool will give you the instructions to remove yourself from your team and how to join another team or participate as an individual
(To add yourself to an existing team, you will need the new TEAM ID. A team member of your new team can give you the TEAM ID.
-If you are an individual participant who wants to join an existing team go to the Progress Tracker and follow instructions to add yourself to an existing team. You will need the new TEAM ID. A team member of your new team can give you the TEAM ID
Note: Only a team member can delete a team member and only a team member can access the TEAM ID

How to win?
The Lighten Up 4 Life team that loses the greatest percentage of weight over each 16-week program will win prizes. In order to win, you will need to Submit Your Weight every Monday using your email address that you used to register for the challenge. You need to submit your weight at least once a month by the end of the month.
NOTE: Each person is responsible for submitting their own weight (One team member can submit weights for each team member)
Winners: Each session, the team that lose the greatest percentage of weight will win!
